STATION-BRED CATTLE AT FORDELL.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Fordell sale held on Tuesday:—A yarding of about 300 head of station-bred cattle was submitted to a keen attendance of buyers. The cattle yarded were all local lines and in excellent order. They met with an exceptionally good market. Bullocks averaged 10s per head and yearlings about 15s per head above the last Feilding sale. Good forward lines, of steers made up to £9 2s and yearling steers reached high levels. A line of 19 on account of Mr. D. J. Beard made £fi IDs, and lines on account of Messrs. D. McLeay and W. J. B. Tripe made £6 12s. Yearling heifers also sold readily but only a limited number of these were yarded. A number of pens of fine fat cows and heifers made between £8 10s and £8 16s. These did not show the same appreciation in values as did the store cattle. A line of medium wether hoggets sold at 235.
