KING SOLOMON TO REOPEN

Following a conference of the directors of King Solomon Deep Lead, Ltd., with the mine employees today, a settlement was reached in the dispute which caused the mine to be closed down on Monday. A joint statement was issued at the conclusion of the conference to the effect- that an amicab.le agreement had been reached, as a result of which the mine resumes normal operations tomorrow morning. NORTH BROKEN HILL. Further expansion is contemplated by North Broken Hill, Limited, which has announced that it proposes to install a new treatment mill at its mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales. The capacity of the new plant has not been disclosed. The existing plant has a capacity of from 35,000 to 40,000 tons a month. Sections of it, it is stated, will be incorporated in the design of the new plant. North Broken Hill L* one of the most important companies of the Barrier group, interest in which has been greatly stimulated over ■ the last few months by the firmer market ruling for base metals, of which lead is the chief product of the company.
