, United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, September 20. The Rosehill Racing Club's Spring Meeting on Saturday, as a full-dress rehearsal for the. A.J.C. Spring Meeting, attracted the keenest interest, features being the defeat of Talking (.who has been regarded in some quarters as Gold Kod's most formidable rival) by Shakespeare, whom' Gold Rod comfortably defeated at Warwick Farm, and Silver Ring's fine victory in the Hill Stakes. Shakespeare displayed more doggedness than Talking, who led into the straight. Silver Ring, after racing attractively throughout, wrested victory from the pacemaker Lough Neagh, who battled on courageously. Sarcherie was near the lead throughout.. Results included: — CAMELLIA STAKES, £200: X 7 furlongs. Mrs. S. R. Coward's b h Cid, by Blue Flame —Smart Shoe, 6yrs, 7.10 (Richards) 1 King's Head, 8.9 (Matthews) 2 Turbine, 8.9 (Shean) 3 Fifteen started, including Capris (fourth), Gay Sheik (sixth), Stretto. Distinguished, and the Palmist. One and a half lengths; length. Time, lmin 25Jsec. King's Head, making his reappearance after a long spell, performed impressively, and Capris was also responsible for a nice effort. ROSEHILL GUINEAS, 750 guineas; for three-year-olds; 9 furlongs. Philip's eh m Fair Diana, by Heroic—Rythona, 4yrs, 7.2 (Curby) — • '" Dulcedo, 8.0 (Knox) 3 ♦Dead heat for first. Fourteen started, including Queen of Song, Loud Applause, and Miramond. Dulcedo finished a length and a half behind the dead-heaters. Queen of Song ran attractively considering it was her first race in Australia. Time, 2min 19sec. Stalin was second in the second division, in which Maestro and Jubilee Singer were unplaced. Havaspot ran unplaced in the -hurdle race.
