FIRST SHIPMENTS
TROOPS FOR PALESTINE 1 (British Offlciai Wireless.) (Received September 14, 2.10 pan.) RUGBY, September 13. The first detachment of troops foi Palestine left camp early this morning for Southampton to join the Dorset shire, which sails today with 1700 men, including two units of the Third In. fan try Brigade comprising 53 officers and 1.132 men of the Royal Northumberland , Fusiliers, and the Royal Irish Fusiliers. They, are to be joined at Southampton by the 6th Field Parfc and the 12th and 26th Field Companies of the Royal Engineers. On Monday other vessels of the emergency transport fleet, the Laurentic and the Nevassa, will leave Southampton with the headquarters staffs of the Ist: Division, some of the smaller units,, and tialf of the 2nd Infantry Brigade. The Laurentic is a fast vessel and is expected toi be back in Southampton' in :ime. to sail again about October 20, srobably with the 3rd Battalion of i the Uoldstream Guards and the 2nd Bat;alion of the Buffs, to complete. th« :orce.
