SMALL TABLE TOURNEY

A further six games of the Wellington annual- small-table handicap billiards tournament were conducted last night at Billiards Limited showrooms;

J. Hamilton (owe 75) conceded his opponent, Bull (rec. 80), 155 points in 275 up, and just failed to win by one point. Hamilton, from his long handicap, had to play extremely well to bridge the gap, and when in position to win by potting his opponent he refrained, and attempted a much more difficult winning hazard. Bull, who. wanted eight points to win, then got them in one shot. Hamilton's ■ best" breaks were 31, 31, arid 32. "• ■ Arthur Duncan (rec. 30) defeated P. G. Taylor (rec. 50) by 200-179, the best break being a 24 by the winner. Lockett (rec. 50) was defeated by Liddle (rec. 60), the score being 20& 161. Best breaks were a .22 by th« winner and a 20 by the loser.

H-. Tunley (rec. 60) narrowly defeated G. Lang (owe 40), the score being' 240-235. The finish -was exciting, the issue being in doubt till the last. Best breaks were made by Lang—2s, 20, 24, 20, and 23. W. N. Tucker, several times past champion (owe 250), had to concede L. Smith (rec. 30) the substantial start of 280 points in 450 up, and just managed to win by 10 points, the scora being 450-440. Tucker made consist-, ent breaks, among which were a 22, 43, 35, 20, 51, 34, and 29. Smith's best was a 26;

W. Tunley (owe 20) defeated H. Mason (rec. 150). by 220-164. The best break was a 29, unfinished, by Tunley. Tonight at 7 o'clock C. E. Peek will play L. Kussell, and S. Ingram will play °E. A.
