WOOL FOR JAPAN
EVIDENCE OF INDIRECT PURCHASES

SYDNEY, This Day. The "Daily Telegraph" says that wool sellers in Sydney consider there are unmistakable signs that Japan is buying Australian wool indirectly. One strong indication, they say, is that certain city operators who for many years have bought in a small way have launched out in an unprecedented fashion since the sales began on Monday. These buyers decline to say whether they have received commissions from Japan to buy by proxy.
