The Sports Club , from the staff 'of General Motors held a well-attended dance in the Horticultural Hall, Lower Hutt. Members; of the committee were Mrs. Smith (wearing black georgette), Misses Wood (floral georgette), Kearney (scarlet velvet), and May (white matalasse), Messrs. H. E. Pary, T. King, A. Dibley, A. McCaskill, F. Kershaw, F. Rushton, and, T. Baker. Among the dancers were Mrs. King (in navy slipper satin), Mr. and Mrs. Graham (the latter in black and scarlet crepe), Miss Paris, Mrs. Verrall (floral voile), Mrs. CunliCa (black velvet), Mr. and Mrs. Rarity (panne velvet), Mrs. F. Rushton (black lace), Mr. and Mrs. Stapleton, Mrs. McCaskill (floral ninon), Mr. and Mrs. Scrimshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner,. (black and white marocain), Mrs. McCormick (silver-striped georgette), Mr. and Mrs. McLeod (black velvet), Mrs. Tikey .(scarlet matalasse), Mr. and Mrs. Goddard (sequinned black velvet), the Misses Gwilliam (rose floral taffeta), Armstrong (black taffeta), Hoare (green marocain), Pollock (scarlet georgette), Burns (blue marocain), Housell (green georgette), Gough (lemon sand crepe), Kearney (red velvet), West (black georgette), Merrilees (lemon crinkled crepe), Dixon (emerald satin), Reedy (black panne velvet), Selwood (white elephant crepe), Symons (black velvet with cream tunic), Lewer (magnolia lace), and Messrs. C. Dawson, S. Davis, S. Stone, R. Partington, C. Pegler, A. Drummond, M. Holland, D. Parsonage, K. Hartley, A. Meyrick, D. Doidge, D. McCarthy, F. Haines, M. Baker, W. Hartley, D. Horlor, M. Wally, S. Gilder, D. Lauder, Verrall, T. Sellwood, and H. Hosking. College Reunion Dance. Old pupils of the Hutt Valley High School held their tenth annual reunion dance in the Horticultural Hall at Lower Hutt. The staff of the "school was represented by Mr. and Mrs. Ramsoh (the latter in black taffetas), Miss M. Marriott (hyacinth taffetas), and Mr. W. Mason. The young people's committee comprised the, Misses R. Thornton (rose crepe-satin), T. Stace (black velvet), J. Mouat (black silkvelvet), V. Burns (check taffetas), and Messrs. A. Hay wood, M. Rose, D. Palmer, J. B. Hepworth, R. Harding, J. Taylor, and C. Wallace. The dancers included Misses C. Bishop (who wore peach satin), J. Burns (black velvet), D. Milne (powder-blue marocain), M. Beattie (lemon matalasse), A. Browning (rose sand-crepe), M. Thornton (white windswept crepe), J. Brown (black velvet), E. Armstrong (turquoise georgette), V. Wood (green silver-striped moire), H. Grant (opal-blue ninon), H. JacksonHughes (ivory lace), M. Corbett (flame georgette), N. Whiteman (magnolia satin), J. Benson (lacquer-red velvet), J. Butcher (floral georgette),. M. 'Pupils of Miss Draper, the little Hosie twins and Winsome and Mervyn Smith, gave clever' demonstrations of the rumba and the modern waltz.
