CONFIDENT FLYERS

NEW YORK TO LONDON

BEATING LINDBERGH'S TIME

United Press Association—By Electric. Telegraph—Copyright. (Received September 3, 2.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 2. With Harry Richman, a noted vaudeville artist as passenger, Dick Merrill, a well-known commercial pilot, at the controls in a monoplane christened Lady Peace, took off on the first round of a trip to London, which he hopes to reach at noon. They are to return immediately after refuelling. The flyers are confident that both ways they will take less time than Colonel Lindbergh on his Paris hop.
