CENTRAL V. ST. GEORGE
Central, fielding a team with several substitutes, one of whom was Ted Elliott, a member of the Board of Control; gave a good exhibition of football, although defeated by St. George. St. George won the toss and played with a 'light northerly wind. Early in the game St. George were awarded a penalty,, and Spencer, kicked a good goal. 2-0 Play moved downfleld from the kick-off, and an-infringement in the scrum, by St. George enabled Berry to kick a good penalty for Central. 2-2. Fast play by St. George gave Cootcs a chance to force his way through to score a good try. The kick failed. St. George 5, Central 2. Quick followingup by the St. George forwards ended in Central's full-back being caught in possession, and from play-the-ball Moisley scored. St. George 8, Central 2. Cential then' csmc to light, Coombos forcing his wa: over. Berry converted. St. George B,' Central 7. In the second halt St\ George were right on top, Gladding^ Moisley, Mailman, and Simons securing tries, one of which was converted by Spencer. The final score was St. George 22, Central 7.
