ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH

THE ANNUAL REPORT

The annual report of St. Andrew's I Presbyterian Church, The Terrace, to I be presented to the annual meeting of! the congregation on Thursday evening, states:—"lt is nearly two years since the Rev. A. B. Kilroy, M.A., came i to St. Andrew's, and we gratefully acknowledge our indebtedness to him for his faithful', and .'earnest ministry and for his sympathetic, /and.practical interest in all the. organisations of our church and its various activities. Few churches have . been more honoured than, this in the men who have filled its pulpit, but the Kirk Session feels that our glorious traditions are worthil maintained under whom we now sit. His scholarly sermons, the outpouring of a cultured^mind, area cause of admiration both to members and visitors to the congregation. He is' a most sympathetic and devoted pastor, shepherding his widely-scattered flock witu rare diligence and fidelity, for which reason spiritual blessing has rested upon the whois congregation." The attendances at the :. quarterly Communion services were as follows:— September, 258; December, 301; March, 269; June, 264. The year started with a Communion roll of 359 and at the end of the year it had been increased to 373.

Gratification is expressed at the increased interest in the Bible ' classes. A comparatively small -lumber of children attended the-Sunday school. No doubt this is due to ..he fact that St. Andrew's was a city congregation, but an appeal is made to members and adherents to send xheir children to Sunday school. .........

The report of the board of managers states that a credit balance oi £127 9s Id.is shown, largely due tc a generous legacy from the estate of tne lale James Campbell, amounting to £224 13s Bd. The actual cash credit balance is £19 Os Bd. The difference-- is accounted for by capital payments, included n the assets, for hearing aids, gas heaters, and music; also payments of accounts outstanding from the previous year. The amount received this year from the thanks offering appeal was £151 3s 9d.
