AULD MEMORIAL CUP GAMES
HOSPITAL'S SOUND CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION
Kirat A Division Socwr teams on Saturday played Auld Memorial Cup and championship games combined, the winners being Waterside, Institute 0.8. (who played for the cup only), Hospital, and Pctone. The principal game at the Basin Reserve was that between Waterside and Seatoun, and so evenly matched were the elevens that at the end of the ninety minutes the score was 1 all, and extra lime was necessary. In it Waterside's better condition told and they scored two more. goals to go forward to the next round of the cup competition. Seatouii's championship draw and Hospital's win means that the-latter will almost certainly win the championship, Ssaloun's only hope,being that they may finish equal on points with Hospital and have a play-off. Institute and Swifts on Saturday played in .the pup competition only. > In the First B Division the only games were-the' semi-finals of the Victory Cup competition, in which 'Technical Old Boys and Scottish Wanderers gained wins over Island Bay and Lower Hutt respectively, the latter being by an unexpectedly large margin of 5 goals to 1. : .. ; Playing conditions were good on all grounds, there being no sun or rain, and little wind.
