MISSION TO SEAMEN
I -' Last week • was a busy one for the Missions to Seamen Institute, Stout btreet. On -Monday a crowded whist drive and bridge evening was very much-enjoyed by the visitors. Mr. Allison acting as M.C. and-Messrs. Bross and vcar being the prize winners. All present took the opportunity of wishing the niissioner, the Rev. B. J. Williams, a happy trip to Australia for the Missions, to Seamen chaplains"conference. Supper was served at the close of the evening by the ladies. 'An'enjoy able, musical and elocutionary programme was. given at the institute to a largo audience; the programme being supplied by the Misses Tiora Meadows, (songs), Powell (vio(son«? ' 6S v S- A rtll ur AsMey-Jones (songs), C. E. Clarke (pianoforte solos), and-finally a playlet in charm-i!-V? J r.?P eh Revolution costume entitled A Minuet" by Miss B. AshleyJones, and Messrs. A. Ashley-Jones and McDonald. The programme was enthusiastically received, and community singing was indulged in:1' Mr, 'C. i. Clarke acted as accompanist for the evening, and Mr. G. Henderson as announcer. The mission is indebted to the performers for their excellent and successful efforts to entertain. Supper was served by the All Saints' branch of tie Harbour Lights Guild. Mrs. Cecil Cox and Mrs. J. E.
