WAGERING IN VICTORIA

The increasing popularity of totalisator wagering was amply demonstrated during the racing season that has just closed in Victoria. The aggregate that, passed through the!machines at the'; various . metropolitan" courses reached the huge amouht of £2,204,879. The.increase for the^meetings. at Flemington was £42,43855. at v :Caulfield £60,321 15s, and at-■■' Moonee Valley £23,758 55., There was a decrease of £9609 in the turnover at the Ascot trotting meetings, which was the only instance of a decline.
