MASON, STRUTHERS DIVIDEND.
A balance to credit of profit and loss account of £6413 Is lid is shown in the accounts of Mason, Struthers, and Co., Ltd., for the year ended June 30, 1936. In the report the ' directors state: "Unfortunately, the increased land and.income tax as suggested in the-Budget does not allow your direc-tors-to propose the payment of -as large a dividend as had been hoped for. These proposals necessitate an additional payment lor land tax of approximately £1000; your directors therefore recommend that the amount of. £6930 4s 7d standing to credit of profit and loss account, which includes £517 2s 8d brought forward from • the previous year, be' dealt.with as follows: Transfer to land and income tax reserve for this year's assessment, £3450; payment of 3 per cent, dividend on paid-up share, capital, £3300; carry forward, £180 4s 7d; making a total of .£6930 4s 7d. During the year a satisfactory offer was received and accepted for Auckland branch Customs Street property, and stock which could not be-moved economically to Christchurch and Wanganui was realised." ."
