ARRIVALS. • MONDAY, AUGUST. 24. INAILV,■ m.s. (2.!!5 p.m.), 251 .tons, Gibson, from Patciii HAWEUA, m;s. (2.35 p.m.)/ 188 tons,. McT-ach-liiii, from I'iltoa. Two small fires occurring during the weekend, were dealt with by the Central Fire1 Brigade. On Saturday a. car outside : the Mount Cook- Police Station, was .set alight by a. dropped cigarette and. the upholstery damaged, but the fire was extinguished before further damage was done. A 1 short circuit set alight to the roof of Our Theatre, Ncwtown, on Saturday, and a quantity, of scrim, and'electrical wiring was damaged; The fire \vas extinguished without trouble. When he caught a finger in a chaffcutter yesterday afternoon, Ray Bentley, aged 6, of Lane Street, Wallaceville, had the fingev removed. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. )
