Friday's closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for July 31 being shown in parentheses:— Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 7.02 d a lb (7.18 d); September delivery, 6.51 d a lb (6.63 d). Rubber.—Para, IOJd a lb (lOjd); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7 5-8 d a lb (7 11-16 d). Jute.—August-September shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £17 15s ton (£l6 17s. 6d). Copra.—August-September shipment, South Sea, to London or Rotterdam £13 7s 6d a ton (£13): smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £12 17s 6d a ton (£l2 10s); plantation, Rabaul, to London or Rotterdam, £14 7s 6d a ton (£l3 17s 6d). Linseed oil, £29 10s a ton (£29 ss) Turpentine, 41s 6d a cwt (39s 3d).
