Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with his fourth statutory offence of drunkenness. "Yes, you've been working hard —for the Government," commented the Magistrate. "Are you still able to work?" "I can still do a hard day's work, your Worship," replied the accused. "You'll do three . months' hard labour," said the Magistrate, after commenting on the fact that the accused' had 65 convictions, mostly for drunkenness. . v

Alfred Croft, a miner, aged 57, also received three months' imprisonment with hard labour for his fourth statutory offence of drunkenness.
