RIDGWAY SCHOOL
The scholars of Ridgway School were addressed yesterday by Messrs. Mason and Harris, the president and secretary respectively of the Vogeltown Horticultural Society. Mr. Mason mentioned that in Japan every day is Arbor Day, and every tree is looked upon as-an individual with a soul and cared for accordingly. .Mr. Harris said the Maoris" had the same idea Each scholar was given a tree' to plant and, care, for; '_ many ' pupils brought .thejr.own tree's-. -The 'trees were soon planted,' staked, and nrotecfed7fronV the- w rnd. , The hea-dmas-ter, Mr: P.M.
