According to a statement of expenditure last year not authorised by Par-: liamentary. vote, the Department of Industries and Commerce, Tourist, and Publicity, paid Mr. R. Cobbe, former manager of the Chateau Tongariro, a compassionate grant of £600 .for injuries sustained' during the performance of his: duties.
