WOMEN IN SPORT

Whatever concern one may express concerning the intrusion of women into men's sport, it must be conceded that some of them reach a high stage of efficiency, says an English writer. A Counsel for the Defence of the' women who held a bowling tournament at .Hastings, writes:—

"Some of ' the women I have seen here would give our best men a jolly good hiding. Where women are lacking compared with men is in noting things like a strong wind and making use of it. There is a family in Hastings—mother, father, and daughter— whom I would back against any three of our men. The gap between men and women in bowls.is riot nearly so great as in most other games."
