TO MISS NATIONAL

DUNMURE FOR LATER DAYS

(By Telegraph.) (Special to the.''Evening Post")

. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The southern horses Dunmure, Bandy Boa, and Money Mine arrived at Riccarton yesterday after being quartered for some time at Washdyke. T. R. George a#ived from the. north this morning .with• Diamond and.Boomerang, and G. A. Reid came with Ruaform.

Although the.Southland.'chaser Dunmure has arrived at Riccarton he will not fulfil his engagement in the Grand National Steeplechase, but he may be a starter in other events later on at the meeting.

The doubt concerning the riding of Punchcstown in the Grand National Steplechase has been settled. He will be handled by H. Turner, who has been associated with him in practically all his • schooling.

So far no arrangement has been made for the riding of High Speed, but there is a possibility of V. Langford's having the mount. . Nothing will be done, .however, until the owner has been'con- ! suited.

The following riding arrangements have been made for'the Winter Cup:— A. E. Ellis, Concertpitch; G. H. Humphries, Ponty; A. Messervy, Royal Gallant; and L. J. Ellis, Wino.

There is a possibility that the Christchurch Hunt Club' will, hold a race meeting in place of the one that had to be abandoned last weekend. Saturday, August 29, is a date the Committee" has in mind, and if the meeting is gone on with a fresh programme will be drawn up. -
