It was common knowledge that defence would be one of the major questions to be dealt with at • the forthcoming Premiers' Conference in Australia, all the States being agreed that something more would have to be done.
Discussing, .wool, Mr. Conway said that anticipations were for a good season, beneficial rains having fallen and stocks in store being small.
