SISTERS-IN-LAW ENTERTAIN

i A series of parties arranged by Miss Sheila Todd's-many friends, to take place prior to her;marriage next week to Mr. Bob Whyte, commenced with two at the weekend given by sisters-in-law of the bride-elect, Mrs. Bryan Todd and Mrs. Andrew Todd.

, The flrst was Mrs. Bryan Todd's tea party on Friday, afternoon; at- which she entertained a -large number of friends'in her-new ,home in Wesley Road. .Brjght fire's and masses of lovely early spring flowers —red and mauve anemones, red carnations, daffodils, and Iceland poppies—made the attractive "reception-rooms look very cheerful. A very smart ensemble was worn by the guest of honour. It consisted of a blue and cream floral crepe de chine frock with a coat of navy blue cliqut woollen material. Her brimless hat was of navy blue silk trimmed with a white quill.and she wore a silver fox fur., The hostess was

dressed in a black skirt with a black and tinsel tunic.

Mrs. Andrew Todd, who is at present living in Mrs. Frank Leckie's house at Heretaungai, gave; a "5 o'clock at home" on Saturday for both Miss Todd and her fiance. The guests were mostly young married people, and although, the, weathee-was'so bad,' about -lar"arrived. "The soft light from attractlvely^shaded lamps was supplemented 6'yPthe glow from the leaping flames, of the bi4Tbg*fir*es in'the long drawing-room land' U the diningroom .which were decorated with japonica, .daffodils, carnations, and Violets.^ Mfe.
