MISHAP TO RANGITANE

With reference to the cable message that appeared in ■ last night's "Post" stating that the Rangitane had broken the shroud of her main driving wheel, and that therefore she wa,s proceeding to Colon on one engine, the general manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Mr. C. M. Turrell, said today that the company received on Thursday a. cable from London stating that owing to engine trouble the Rangitane was not expected at Panama until August 9, and that it was not anticipated that she would get away before August 11 or 12. He stated that the company was endeavouring to keep the ship to her scheduled departure date from New Zealand, ■ August 24.
