HUTT VALLEY ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of the Hutt Valley V.M.C.A. was held on Thursday evening.

The officers elected were:—President, Mr. H. W. Kersley; vicerpresidents, Rev. J. E. Lopdell . and Mr. W. B. Nicholson; secretary, Mr. J. H. McConville; treasurer, Mr. E. Lambourn; The secretary presented an encouraging report of : the work of the association showing that it was filling a great need in the Valley. The "Big Brother" movement needed strengthening and the chairman. Mr. Kersley asked for volunteers to act as "big brothers" to juvenile offenders. '.■■■..■

The financial report showed a small credit balance with; however, a number of outstanding accounts. It was decided, in view of the importance of the association's- work to the com-, munity, to request the assistance of the public in strengthening the financial side. ...
