The Legislative Council met at 2.30
The Hon. D. Buddo gave notice to ask. the Leader of the Council that as accidents at railway crossings between trains and motor vehicles appeared to be increasing, due, in the opinion of some experienced motor-drivers, to the ciossing danger or caution signal being erected too high, would he ask the Minister of Railways to go into the question as to whether a signal not exceeding three feet in height would come better within the range of; vision of motor-drivers.
The Hon. R. McCallum gave notice to ask the Government whether it would consider an amendment of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration •Act, 1925, in the direction of widening the scope of applications by workers so that whether an award was made or not. applications for relief under section 145 might be made to any inspector appointed, under that or any other Act competent to deal with the matter.
