TYPHOON IN JAPAN
i ISLAND SWEPT 741 .KILLED AND MISSING (Received July 24, 2.10 p.m.) TOKIO, July 23. A typhoon which swept Kyushu Island inundated 2000 homes and damaged crops, 741 persons being reported killed and missing. A submarine and also, a 15,000-ton supply ship were blown ashore. Fishing boats were damaged or sunk.
