GRADUATE MEMBERS
VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL "MATTER"! FOR PARLIAMENT Consideration of proposed changes in the constitution of the Victoria College Council occupied the attention of the council at its meeting last night. The matter was raised at the last meeting by a lettct- from the Court of Convocation asking for the council's support in a movement to gain further graduate representation. j After a discussion between members as to whether the matter should be taken in committee, Professor T. A. j Hunter said that at the last meeting it had been decided that the students should have representation. The question of the Court of Convocation's increased representation was simply postponed to see whether there should be any further alteration. He did not see why the matter should not be I taken in open council. I Mr. P. Levi, the chairman, said that I the council had never had any part lin deciding what bodies were to be represented on it. That was fixed by Parliament. They could, of course, express their agreement or otherwise. There was no reason why they should not discuss Convocation's resolution, but that was all they could do. It was decided that, as five memibers were absent, two of them being Court of Convocation representatives, further consideration should be deferred until the next meeting. A letter from the Victoria College Students' Association was received stating that the association had big plans to put forward as soon as possible regarding a new students' building, and requesting'that a member of the council should be appointed to the new building committee. Mr. S. Eichelbaum was reappointed. ■
