DISTRICTS DEFINED ; By an Order in -Council published in a supplement to J the Gazette issued last night, comprehensive provisions relating to the control of passenger and goods services in New Zealand are set out. Thirteen Orders in Council relating to passenger transport and four relating to goods transport' are revoked, and the following transport districts are constituted:—No. 1 (Auckland); No. 2 (Wellington); No. 3 (Canterbury); No. 4 (Otago and Southland, but excluding the Duhedin Transport District, which is the fifth district). Details are given of the boundaries pi each district. The new provisions cover the issue of passenger service licences, fares, and tickets, transfer of licences, and the condition of vehicles. Provision is also made for appeals to the Minister of Transport, and a list of. fees.for licences and certificates of fitness is cited. . • • .
