An aeroplane, when taking off near Essendon Aerodrome yesterday, struck a fence and overturned. The pilot, Mr. George Bills Thompson, who is a radio announcer at Station 3AW, received severe head lacerations. Ronald Larsen, 16 years of age, an aero ground assistant, received a fractured skull," and his condition is critical.
