RAIN STOPS MATCH
Onslow completely surprised all supporters by scoring four goals to nil in the first half in the game against Miramar Rangers, but play was abandoned on the ruilng of the referee after quarter of an hour's play in, the second spell.
From the start of the game Onslow dominated the play, playing good football combined with perfect understanding and had no difficulty in scoring four goals in the first half, three of which came from King's boot and one by Wellwood. Although Miramar played more spectacular football they were never dangerous; their efforts seemed to die just as they looked like scoring. On resumption of play after the spell Onslow again attacked very strongly, but heavier rain fell making real football almost impossible, and the referee, Mr. L. Creagh, decided that the teams, had had enough and called the game off. Onslow were unlucky as it appeared that they were sure of this their first win this season.
