PLAY IN THE MUD

SEVERAL SURPRISES

Conditions prevailing for the matches conducted by the Wellington Women's Hockey Association on Saturday were anything but favourable at the commencement of the games, and the matches played towards the end of the afternoon were in most cases fought out in hard, driving rain. College Old Girls piled up a big score against T.O.G. 1 in the senior A competition, and after an even game Hutt United and T.O.G. 2 ended up with a draw Huia defeated Toa by 4 goals to 1, and after a disappointing game University and Training College finished with no score. Swifts and Poneke abandoned their game-owing to the weather conditions.
