Sir, —I want to draw the public's attention to the number of women who have to stand practically all day behind shop counters. Could not the employers provide them" with stools— which could be tucked under the counter when not in use? I: have heard that in some shops seats have been provided but the cry of "Dare they be used?" is so often heard that one realises the assistants are afraid of being dubbed as lazy .—I am, etc.,
