WORK ON HILL ROAD

With reference to a request by a resident of Hill Road, Belmpnt, that the alignment along a length fronting his property be Improved by filling across instead of following round a bend, the engineer reported to the Hutt Council at its meeting yesterday that it would be possible to do what was desired, but the road was already on a very steep grade, and if it were shortened by going across the bend the grade would necessarily become still steeper. For ,this reason the engineer did not recommend agreeing to the request. The council decided not to agree to the request.
