HAWERA'S MARTON HOPES

(Special from "Limited.") .. -.! HAWERA, July 17. J. Fryer's horses, PanloS, Oriel, and Indiscretion, are booked to race at Marton next Wednesday. They will then go on to Awapuni for the Manawatu Meeting, where they will be joined by One Whetu, Le Grand, Wotan, and Supreme Court. Shemseh is also booked to race at the Rangitikei Meeting on Wednesday.

The Cynic mare Indiscretion has recovered from the soreness that prevented her racing at Trentham and has recently given two excellent exhibitions over the Hawera steeplechase fences. She should prove hard to beat in coming Hunt Club races.

Oriel was aly/ays<a proficient jumper, and on Tuesday, in company with Panloff, he went a round of the schooling fences at a fast clip in great style, finishing three lengths in front of Panloff, who did not relish the fastpace, set. .Oriel has; been operated on for wind troubles and still makes a noise, but he has been working solidly, and, providing his operation has been at all effective, he will go very close to winning a race next week. His mission at Marton is the Ladies' Bracelet.

Gne Whetu is a complacent trackworker and does not unduly exert himself, but he should strip in splendid fettle at Awapuni? Supreme Court is galloping in good style and is doing much better than formerly.

King Korokio, a typical Chief Ruler from Sea Gull and rising three years, has started regular track exercise. He is a well-grown, rangy individual.
