That much has/already been accomplished in the collecting of shillings for the Queen's portrait, was revealed at a recent meeting; .when the members of .the executive,; and conveners of districts met toge&er to report on the progress made; r.ivHepbrts showed that much enthusiasniawas being displayed on the "part of selectors,; who were meeting' with already response to the appeal. ■ Sj!v
Collecting books are nq^yidistributed throughout many townsvin:,the Dominion, and it is, expected thaV the same generous response will be met with in these localities as in Wellington and its suburbs. ' •
In one district where workers are still enthusiastically engaged, £34 is already in hand,, but much has yet to be done before the collectors will feel satisfied that all women have been given an opportunity to express their loyalty by sharing in the presentation of this gift to the National Art Gallery. . ■ ■ ■'■■■■'.. ■;■ - y
