Last night the reserves committee recommended, and the council approved, that-all owners of buildings on the domain who' had .not already received notice to remove the buildings by August 31 should be required to shift them within six months from that date.
The,.chairman of the reserves com-' mittee,, Councillor J. It was true that there., were some permanent people there, but there were at least twelve who had properties there but did not reside on them! The temporary places had hacl five years'notice. The notice now being given was a further six months.
Councillor L. McKenzie remarked :that the property was given to the council as a trust uridter certain conditions which it must comply with. If it could not administer the property,, it should give it back.
