The Methodist Schoolroom was well arranged to accommodate the. largo number of members and,friends of the Brooklyn branch-of the League, of Mothers recently. On entering the hall the officers and . committee (who were the guests of honour) each received a spray, of flowers.-. . .: • The meeting opened;with:the league devotions, and feeling reference ;\vas made to the.passing of.Mrs. E; Dawsori, members standing in'silence as a mark of respect to her memory. : . Mrs. Kennedy (convener) presented a most delightful programme, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Songs were given by Mesdames J. W. Jones, Kennedy, Bird, and Ingley;;, recitations by Mesdames Castle and Stinson, a pianoforte solo by Miss Molly Wright, L.T.C.L., and a group of numbers by the choir. A number of novel and useful articles were-displayed in connection with the competition for the best article made and costing not more than 6d. Mrs. Ferguson arid Miss Hunt had some difficulty: in choosing the > winners—Mrs. W. Moncrieff 1, and Mrs. Stinson 2. • ■ ■ - \ Posies of violets and daphne were , presented to each Of the ladies responsible for the success of the meeting, ; with the very sincere thanks of the ' "guests." ;■•.■-. Afternoon tea was-dispensed: by the I helpers, and concluded one of the '. most successful meetings of the year. '- Mrs. E.
