CHRISTCHURCH SENTENCES

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Charles Hugh Edward Thomas, aged 36, for theft, w,as admitted to probation for.three years in the Supreme Court this morning by Mr. Justice Northcroft. His Honour said that in spite of the'prisoner's bad record he would accept counsel's statement that Thomas had tried to reform.

Walter Albert Spier was sentenced to two years' x-eformative detention for breaking, entering, and theft.

For a serious offence against a boy Charles Haddock, aged 51, was sentenced to three years' hard labour.

For committing an indecent act George O'Neill, aged 32/ was sentenced to eighteen months' hard labour.
