'CONSIDER IT CLOSED'

REPLY FROM SUSSEX

INCIDENT IN NOTTS MATCH

(Received July 16, 11 a.m.)

LONDON, July 15. • The Sussex County Cricket Club has sent a letter to the Nottinghamshire Club stating that it is glad that the latter club's committee does not uphold the action of its captain, Heane, in taking his men off the field in a recent match because of rain when Surrey required two runs for an outright win. "In view of this assurance," wrote Sussex, "we will consider the incident closed and we hope that our friendly relations will long continue unimpaired."
