SIRES FOR THE SEASON
With flat racing for the season practically over, the position of Hunting bong at the head of the winning sires is now assured. His progeny have won approximately £13,800, and he is now nearly £2000 ahead .of Paper Money, who is next on the list. Chief Ruler, who.was second last season is now third, with approximately £8300. The next three positions are in doubt, las about £2000 behind Chief Ruler are Lord Quex, "Valkyrian, and Acre, with only a few pounds between them. Iliad is seventh, followed by Gay Shield, Musketoon, and Limond. Eight of these were in the first ten last season, the newcomers being Iliad and Musketoon.
The deceased Lucullus was at the head of the winning sires at the W.R.C. Meoting, with winners of £610. Next in order were Diacquenod, £525; Acre, £505; Hunting Song, £420; Arausio, £350; Callaghan, £350; Archiestown, £315; Colossus, £290; Valkyrian, £280; Shambles, £255; Royal Divorce, £215; Spear Dance, £210; and Mintleaf, £200. :
