ANNUAL CHARITY MATCH

Representatives of the Police and Post and Telegraph Departments plan elaborately each year for their annual Rugby football match, staged as a benefit for deserving causes. Plans for this year's engagement have worked out splendidly, and the match is to be played at Athletic Park next Wednesday, when there will also be many entertaining sidelights.

The following team has been selected to represent the Police: —Full-back, A. Adlum; three-quarters, J. Wakelin, H. Eden, W. McJannet; five-eighths, S. Best, G. Stevens; half-back, G. Roberts; forwards, G. Waple, I. Palmer, C. Arnst, G. Hunt, I. Wilson, E. Fell, R. Hull, and E. Barry. Emergencies: Backs, G. Cleverley, G: Harris; forwards, J. McConacliy, H. Hawke, and J. Walsh. The players are to train at the Oriental gymnasium at 7 p.m. on Friday and again.on Monday.
