HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.

A general meeting of members of the Hutt Valley V.M.C.A. was held recently. Mr. W. B. Nicholson presided. The following was the result of the election of the board of directors for the ensuing year:-j-The Reys. ,J. E.. Lopdell, J. C. Loan, J. Thompson Macky, Messrs. H. W. Kersley, R. M. Brasted, C. A. Fuller, W. Carey, W. B. Nicholson,. J. S. Reid, R. Nelson, A. E. Lambourn, G. Gieson, C. G. Hedge, W. H. Wilson, McConville, and C. L. Coleman. The secretary's report indicated a very successful year, stating that the membership figures were increasing rapidly and that a very constructive, all-round, character-building programme was now in operation. Special reference to the splendid work of the Ladies' Auxiliary was made and Mrs. J. D. King, president of the auxiliary, replied. A resolution was carried expressing sorrow at the loss sustained by the community in the death of Mrs. E. Dawson, and recording with gratitude her work for the association and its [deepest sympathy with her family.
