£20,000 TO HOSPITAL FUND (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 27. The King, who succeeded his late father as patron of the King Edward VII Hospital Fund, has appointed the Duke of York to take his place as president. „ Presiding yesterday for the first time at the annual meeting of the governing body of the fund, the Duke revealed that one of the very last acts of King George, who -was an annual subscriber of £1000 to the fund, was to hand over to it a capital gift of £20,000, the interest of which will form part of the amount distributed in grants each year. King Edward has increased his subscription from -£20d to £1000.
