Florence Austral was born in Richmond, Melbourne. : After preliminary * studies in her home' city, she went to New York and "London, and made such outstanding progress in her l art that engagement at Covent*_ Garden followed. She made, her first- great success in Wagnerian opera, _and has sung in many parts of Europe and with the world's greatest orchestras in oratorios and concert work. She is recognised as one of the greatest English dramatic sopranos. ? Mr. John Amadio is equally well known as a flautist. His boyhood was spent in Wellington, with which city he is renewing acquaintance after many years. He was at one .time • pupil of the late Mr. Charles- "Hill.
