HABSBURG DYNASTY

RESTORATION ISSUE

NO ITALIAN OBJECTION

OTTO'S P.KO3JLSE TO AUSTRIA United I'l-css .Vssorjl.itloii—Hy EKctric 'Jolcgraph—CopjTlalit. LONDON, June 13. A Vienna message states lhat l:a!y docs not object to a restoration of tin; Habsburg dynasty to the throne of Austria. According to the "Rcichspost" on June 16, Italy approves and even emphasises that the restoration question is purely an internal Austrian affair, because no international treaty prevents Austria from choosing her own form of government. As a monarchical country and friend of Austria, Italy will understand all decisions of the Austrian people, whether other countries are pleased or not. y The Archduke Otto, Pretender to the Throne, in a letter to Austria from His place of exile in Belgium, promises to j bridge over all class antagonisms when j he is restored to the throne. "As a true Habsburg I will make sacrifices in my Austria."

The Archduke Eugene, addressing a mass meeting of ex-servicemen, stated that a plebiscite on the restoration of the monarchy would be held in the autumn and he had no doubt that an overwhelming majority would favour the return of the Archduke Otto as Emperor.
