The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. L. Martin) is to leave for the south tomorrow night. He is to open the Otago Winter Show at Dunedin on Friday afternoon.

Dr. J. V. Cable, late Medical Registrar at Wellington Hospital, sailed for London by the Port Adelaide.

Dr. R. Wei ton-Hogg has returned ta Wellington from Auckland.

Detective F, N. Robinson, whtf has now moved to Petone, /to take the place of Detective W. McLennan, one of the detectives who recently visited Scotland Yard, was presented recently with a pair of hair-brushes by members of the Central Detective Office. Detective-Sergeant L. B. Revell made the presentation, and Detective Robinson, who was also presented with' a clock for Mrs. Robinson, thanked members of the staff sincerely for their gift.

The transfer of two members of the Wellington Police Force is- announced by Inspector G. Edwards. .Constable D. Byrne, of the Central Station, is going to Hastings, and Constable jj H. Cummings, of Mount Cook Station, la being transferred to Napier.

Mr. H. G. Livingstone, of Christchurch, arrived in Wellington by the steamer express this morning.

Constable V. Woodward, of the Wharf Police Station, who has. been transferred to New Plymouth, left today to take up his new duties.'
