INTER-CLUB MATCHES PLAY WATT CUP GAMES - Fine golfing weather was experienced on i Saturday, but yesterday it ■was patchy, with some steady rain. Hutt beat Miramar in the inter-club match by a considerable margin. In the Watt Cup contests, Manor Park beat Shandon and Waiwetu beat Paekakariki. Manor Park beat Shandon in the Mary Alward Cup, and Titahi and Paekakariki drew.

HUTT BEAT MIRAMAR BOTH A AND B TEAMS Hutt had a signal win against Miramar, which was rather unexpected by the seaside club, as it had put in one of the strongest A teams it has arranged lor some time. Teeing up was allowed on several fairways, and the temporary green at the second shortened the hole. The conditions; were good at Mixamar, though, there was a fresh northerly bree&e, but the'golf Was not of an outstanding quality. TheJHutt A team won by 7 games to 2 and 3 games squared at Miramar, while the Hutt & team won at Hutt by 8 , games to 4, making the aggregate win. 15 games to 6, with 3 games squared. The following are the results, Hutt players first mentioned: — ; A TEAMS. J. L. Black beat K. V. Jeffery, 3 and 2. ■>. _ ■* B. M. Silk beat M. R. Moore, 7 and • 5 ' -1 W. G. Horne lost to H. A. Both No. l's were out in 39, Black turning 1 up. Black got a 3 at the tenth, and came back in 38, while Jeffery took a stroke more. Black, as usual was very sound on the greens. Silk began in fine style, and played brilliant golf to the sixth. He recovered well at the first, wherehis hooked second lay near the thirteenth green, playing a fine pitch over the ditch and bunker, and then sinking a nine-footer for his 4. He got a3 at the second, and approaching well from an overstrong shot helped by the wind to the fast third green; sank a seven-footer for his 4. Taking a3 at the fourth, and a 4 at the fifth, he seemed to have settled down to his best golf. A fine pitch laid him twelve feet from .the pin at the sixth, but Moore's approach putt, after emerging from the bunker, overran, and .though it did not stymie Silk, the borrow was such that it was a very close thing. He hit Moore's ball and missed the putt, and the hole which seemed a certain 3 for him, cost him 4. Both were up on "Hillside" with their seconds, but Silk played a fine shot out of the rough to the green, ' and got his 5, then standing 5 up. Again at the eighth Silk's ball hit Moore's when putting for the hole, though again it was not a stymie. A half in s's resulted. The tenth was halved in s's. A hook which Moore developed got him ' into various troubles. Silk's completed card was 75, with, a 6 at the eighteenth. F. Kember and Aplin were each out in 38, and all square. Aplin was dormie 1 when he took three putts on the last green. >" J. Kember was 1 up on Sutherland going to the seventeenth, but the Miramar player put on a pretty 4 there. Eisher was out in 36, and 2 up on Hollis, but Hollis came back in 38 to Fisher's 39. Pym was 1 up at the turn, playing steady golf, and though it was hole and hole on the way back, added another hole. Shelly visited bunkers at intervals, and Armstrong, who was out in a very fine 36, won the first five holes and was 5 up at the turn. Wagg was 2 down at the turn, Drake having gone out in 37, and he was 3 down when Drake won the tenth. Wagg won the next two, and Drake the next. The fourteenth and fifteenth were halved, and then Wagg won the next three holes, the last, which gave him his win, being due to a fine recovery from the ditch. H. A. Black was out in 37, and 2 up on Horne. He won the next, but Horne took the eleventh in 3. The twelfth and thirteenth were halved and Horne won the fourteenth with a twenty-footer for a 2. The fifteenth was halved. Black won the next two. Hutt won the Crawford Crescent by '5 games to 1 and 2 games squared. WATT CUP MATCH MANOR PARK BEAT SHANDON PAGE BRILLIANT Manor Park had a good win over Shandon at Manor Park on Saturday, when the two clubs met for the first time this season in the Watt Cup competition, winning the Watt Cup match by 8 matches to 4 and the Ranish by 5i to. 4*. F. Page, who has been reinstated as Manor Park's first man, was in brilliant form in his match with R. G. Hay ward, and played irresistible golf to be 6 up after the first seven holes, when he was 3 under par, and still 6 up at the turn, where he was one under par. Hay ward was by no means off form, but he could do nothing against Page, who made scarcely a mistake and won the match 7 . and 6. Page's card for the first nine' wa5:—353443355 —35, against Hayward's 42. A. Clouston was 4 up at the turn in his match against Davidge, whom he beat 2 up. He, too, was in good form, taking only 37 for the first nine, one over par, though he took 40 for the return. J. S. Park, of Shandon, holed his tee-shot at Karori (the fourteenth).

THE CHOICE OF CHAMPIONS. The Champions of Golf, such as Henry Cotton, R. H. Whitcombe, Abe Mitchell, A. H. Padgham, naturally insist on playing with the best golf ball procurable ... the DUN-LOP 65. Sensitive to the most delicate shot, the new "65" does not replace the Dunldp MAXFLI which, for 1936, has been still further improved. Both DUNLOP 65 and Dunlop MAXFLI are obtainable from your Pro. or Sports Dealer. Price each 3s.—Advt.
