The correspondent says that some waitresses have to work long hours and cannot complain for fear of losing their jobs. Inspectors should be appointed to go round the various restaurants and inIsist on observance of the new law.

As the pay-out of the old age pension falls this month on the Monarch's birthday (writes a correspondent) it is sincerely hoped that the Minister of Pensions (Mr. Parry) will see his" way to pay all pensions on the day preceding the holiday.
