H. GARNETT'S HORSES

TWO FOR AUCKLAND

The Ashhurst trotting trainer H. Garnett for many seasons has been a visitor to Auckland meetings, where he has been successful with Great Delight, Audo Spray, Kangihau, and Bonniewah. He intends taking Bolinda King and Baron Grand to the Winter Meeting. Both pacers ran good races on the west coast circuit, and will have derived benefit from the racing. Bolinda King, a black gelding by Native King—Ranee, was one of the most improved pacers on the circuit. At Hawera he finished second to Treasure Bond, going 3min 23sec from a 3min.33sec mark, and at his next start, after registering 3min 22 ,2-ssec, he was beaten by Winaway, who was in receipt of 12yds. Giving away _ a ltitle time, Bolinda King won the 2min 54sec President's Handicap at the Manawatu Meeting in 2min 54 3-ssec, equalling Bonny Azure's Hawera time. He _is not very big, but is a brilliant beginner, and has made appreciable improvement in staying-power. Baron Grand won the Improvers Handicap at Wanganui in 3min 28sec. A. Garnett, son of the trainer, drove the horses, and will drive them at Epsom.
